Deep Silver vient d’annoncer le rachat de la franchise Homefront à Crytek (elle était déjà passée de THQ à Crytek en janvier 2013). Le rachat contient évidemment Homefront: The Revolution, dont le développement sera désormais assuré par « Deep Silver Dambuster Studios », un studio nouvellement fondé à Notthingham.
Le communiqué ne précise pas s’il s’agit du nouveau nom de Crytek UK (ex-Free Radical Design, développeur jusqu’à présent d’Homefront: The Revolution et lui aussi à Nottingham) ou si les deux studios sont des entités réellement différentes.
Dans son communiqué de la semaine dernière, Crytek disait vouloir quitter son statut de développeur pour devenir un éditeur de jeux en ligne. De fait, ils viennent de se séparer de leur dernier gros jeu solo. [–SUITE–]Le communiqué de presse :

Nottingham-based Deep Silver Dambuster Studios to take over development of Homefront: The Revolution
Today, Koch Media together with its publishing label Deep Silver announces that it has acquired the Homefront brand and all coherent assets from Crytek. This includes Homefront: The Revolution which has been announced on 2nd June 2014. The development will be continued in newly founded, Nottingham-based Deep Silver Dambuster Studios.
“We are thrilled to see another great IP joining the Deep Silver universe,” says Dr. Klemens Kundratitz. “We strongly believe in the potential of Homefront: The Revolution and trust in the new team to continue the path we have been walking in the last years.”
Deep Silver Dambuster Studios is the third development studio within the Koch Media Group, joining Deep Silver Volition and Deep Silver Fishlabs.
