Après avoir laissé quelques jours d'avance à une exclusivité dans la presse papier allemande, Electronic Arts et Crytek officialisent le développement de Crysis, le nouveau FPS des créateurs de Far Cry. Le communiqué de presse ressemble à un concours de lancer de fleurs entre les deux sociétés, et les informations sur le jeu sont réduites au strict minimum : tout juste aura-t-on confirmation que le jeu n'est prévu pour l'instant que sur PC, et pas pour consoles. Le communiqué ne se risque pas à avancer une date de sortie.

Award-winning Studio to Create Original Shooter Franchise for PC

CHERTSEY, UK – January 30, 2006 – Electronic Arts (NASDAQ: ERTS), the world's leading interactive entertainment software company and award-winning developer Crytek, today announced they will bring Crysis, an exciting new first person shooter, to gamers worldwide. Developed by Crytek, the makers of the award-winning Far CryTM, Crysis will be an original first person shooter game for PC based on new intellectual property.
