Homelan fait partie de ceux qui ont assisté à une démo de Unreal 2: The Awakening, et nous livre ses impressions, comme l'avait fait Gamespot. Le jeu est là aussi décrit comme absolument superbe. Ils reviennent notamment sur le niveau à ambiance "organique" qu'ils ont pu voir :

Since the planet is a living thing, the look of the level is decidedly weird and organic. Legend is using improvements to the Unreal engine like level textures that flow and move in a rather alien looking way. Legend has also developed their own particle system for the game which is used not only for things like weapons fire but also to depict alien lights inside the living planet.

Legend Entertainment & Infogrammes précisent que la sortie du jeu est bien prévue pour cette fin d'année, et non pas le printemps 2003 comme dit ailleurs.
