CG Online vient de publier une preview de Soldier of Fortune 2. La suite de SoF devrait être tout aussi gore et violente que le premier épisode et bénéficiera du moteur de Quake3 updaté du code de Team Arena pour les passages outdoors.

Using Hollywood stuntmen, Raven motion captured hundreds of signature moves, like the knife tossing and pistol twirling from the original. There's even a cinematic sequence referred to as the "Hong Kong midget toss." Excuse me? What? Digital photographs are being used to model characters and weapons—such as the M4 carbine with underbarrel grenade launcher, silenced SOCOM pistol, and other new toys—which will have polycounts of up to 3,000 per model. The facial animations alone are enough to blow you mind. Also on display was a really cool fog effect: not a smokescreen to hide technical limitations, but a patchy fog that really enhanced the mood. Everything is being done to take advantage of the capabilities of nVidia's new GeForce 3 chip, but the graphics will scale down to the grasp of mere mortal 3D accelerators.
