D'après le site Icrontic, le
serveur master de Q3 ne vérifierait plus la validité des clés du jeu
lorsque vous rejoignez une partie, permettant ainsi de jouer sans clé
(ce qui était la seule protection de Q3 conte le hack). Voilà ce que
dit la news originale :
The Quake 3 master server has stopped checking CD keys. This is not temporary either. We have been monitoring this development for a few weeks now, and it has completely stopped checking both the validity of CD keys and duplicate CD keys. Chances are they ran the servers to stop the initial piracy of the game, and now the cost of running the checking servers is too much to muster.
Cette information reste à confimer, mais ca semble assez plausible puisque Id Software avait déjà annoncé à la sortie de Q3 qu'il stopperait plus tard de vérifier les clés...L'occasion pour de nombreux joueurs de ce mettre à Quake 3 ?
