rendu visite à Red Storm afin d'en savoir
un peu plus sur Ghost Recon, le prochain FPS réaliste de Tom Clancy
(Rainbow6). On y apprend qu'il sera impossible de piloter les véhicules, ni de
les détruire (doh!). L'article parle aussi du gameplay et décrit un mission

New World Order: interview
HomeLAN a interviewé un membre de la
devteam de NWO. New World Order c'est le FPS de Termite Games, la société
suédoise qui avait travaillé sur feu Decay. Leur jeu se base sur une ambiance
réaliste mais avec un gameplay assez speed et fun.Le jeu arrivera aux environs de mars 2002. Une démo devrait prochainement sortir, en attendant vous pouvez regarder la vieille vidéo disponible sur leur site et admirer les screenshots. Un jeu dont on parle très peu mais qui pourrait bien surprendre tout le monde par la qualité de sa réalisation et l'intérêt du jeu en multiplayer... du moins nous l'espérons.HomeLAN - Do you hope New World Order become a favorite for the pro gaming tournaments like Quake III and Counter-Strike have become?

Mieux que la simulation du Cmd Mitch
Aujourd'hui c'est UbiSoft qui se prend pour le Cmd Mitch en déclarant que Rogue Spear est utilisé comme entrainement militaire aux Etats-Unis :
SAN FRANCISCO, CA August 29, 2001 Ubi Soft Entertainment has agreed to allow LB & B Associates Inc. to adopt the game engine used in the best-selling Red Storm game Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Rogue Spear™, to help train U.S. soldiers. The game engine will enable the Department of Defense army to train military personnel soldiers in how to conduct military operations in urban terrain. The engine, which was developed in Red Storm Entertainment’s North Carolina studio, will not be used for weapons training. Instead the government wants to use the high-tech system to help hone decision-making skills at the small-unit level.
“We’ve looked at all of the first person shooters on the market, and no game engine comes close to the realism of Tom Clancy’s Rogue Spear,” said Michael S. Bradshaw, Systems Division General Manager of LB & B Associates Inc.. “We need to train the elements of the small-unit on how to prepare for a mission, how to work as a team during mission execution, and how to conduct after action debriefs, and this engine will let us do that and more.”

- New FA MAS G2 assault rifle
- Introducing a jogging speed. Your run key will toggle between a walk and jog, while holding it down will sprint, and thus reduce accuracy to a near worthless state
- Introducing player attachments. As of 2.86, it'll be limited to weapons slung on the player's shoulder when applicable. This will be expanded in the future to include a wide variety of visual eye candy for your player.
- Improved Bot AI
- The menu has gone through a variety of enhancements, readjustments, and general clean up.

Suite de l'information...Matt on the animation system : Actually reading the UDN docs won't do much good for Unreal 2, since we're using our own proprietary animation system, not Epics. The U2 animation system doesn't use .utx packages anymore, it simply references bitmap files (.bmp, .pcx, .tga or .dds) from a directory. Changing skins is as easy as dropping the new skin in the appropiate directory - boom, it's ready to use :)

Unreal 2 et l'asmd
Hi Preacher:
Unreal fans asked for it -- now they got it. Based on popular demand, the ASMD Shock Rifle and Flak Cannon have been integrated into Unreal 2. This brings the total number of weapons in the game to 17.
